The most important tax for jobholders in Germany is income tax which is progressive. That basically means that the higher the income of the taxpayer, the higher the rate of tax payable. As of 2015, the Germany tax rates for an individual are 14%-45%. Partnerships with business income are subject to trade tax on income and value added tax. The individual partners are subject to income tax on the income derived from the partnership. A corporate partner of a partnership is subject to corporation tax on the share of the partnership profits.
